Design flaws

WeChat for Mac isn’t just badly executed, it has some design flaws that make using it a really annoying experience. First and foremost, if you get a message on your phone, then decide to use WeChat for Mac because typing is faster, the message you just received doesn’t show up because there is no chat history.

You need to confirm on your phone every time you launch the app. Why not just pair the phone and the Mac?

And then there are the small thing that drive you crazy. Every time you switch you Wifi network or your computer goes to sleep, WeChat informs you that it lost the connection, and you have to click on “OK”. Often if I try to shut down my Mac, it is WeChat that fails to close, so my Mac can’t shut down. Usually it’s just because there’s some stupid alert displayed that can’t be closed by the system.

Bad quality app, and no updates since I got the app about a year ago.
